Watch the short video and browse the gallery of snowflakes for your inspiration.
I prepared these gingerbread snowflakes for my signature Christmas exhibition, where the blue ribbon was a beautiful match for the castle's interior, which was defined by the color blue.
By now, you can surely recognize the individual decorating techniques used here – white flooding, lace decorating, and white embroidery. Also, take note of what a simple dot can do when used in a larger size and what a beautiful decorative element it becomes.
Tip for you
Of course, you can use ribbons of any color and width, but I recommend thinner ribbons for easier handling on the gingerbread. Place the ribbons on the gingerbread before you start decorating. Don't worry about smudging them with icing – on the contrary, the ribbon will nicely guide your decorating.
